The Open Handset Alliance™, a group of 47 technology and mobile companies (February 2009), is developing Android; the first complete, open, and free mobile platform based on the Linux kernel. Open Handset Alliance™ members who have come together to accelerate innovation in mobile and offer consumers a richer, less expensive, and better mobile experience. They are committed to commercially deploy handsets and services using the Android Platform. We will be analyzing the components from the Linux kernel to the middleware and key applications that make up the Android software stack.
